Default got off the V in a big way, now it wont idle well

I got into some major whoops and, I guess, a little over my head, the rear end started pitching and it was down him from there. It what pretty spectacular from what I hear.
It tore up the front plastic pretty bad, that will have to be replaced, and bent the steering stem brace back. I can straighten that and weld in some additional bracing.
The problem is that now when it idles, it backfires into the air box occasionally. If you rev it up it runs fine, it just stumbles a little at idle. Sounds like the front cyl to me.
Any thoughts?

It could be in the carbs but check your front intake boot. It may have pulled off during the crash.

Like Camo stated...check for the obvious with the carb boots...

Are you running stock suspension? The V is known for what you described in whoops...the back end will come around. Look into upgrading your rear shock with either an aftermarket or having the rear rebuilt...

Elkas all the way around. But havent quite got the rear tuned in yet.
I just keep backing off the rebound, and it is a little better but still needs work

Sorry to hear about the wreck. I'm unable to offer any help as I am brand new to quads. I can however, tech talk about drag bikes. I just sold my 02 G1K with a Velocity Turbo. Fun bike!
Best of luck with your repairs and hope you didn't get hurt.

Jim
