I would avoid Mikuni. I had a set of 37s and had huge fuel slosh/cutout issues. No issues with my kehin 36s. I even trail ride them with no sputtering.

Use the clear stick.

Get the iron hot then and pull it right down the middle of the crack creating a shallow v-shaped trough. That in itself will begin to meld the plastic back together.
